: Chronic shame is a persistent emotional state where an individual continuously anticipates feelings of shame and inadequacy. Unlike momentary shame, chronic shame pervades one's self-perception and daily experiences, often leading to a deep-seated sense of worthlessness and vulnerability. Making individuals feel perpetually exposed and judged.

Delving into chronic shame, the emotions experienced by an individual with chronic shame reminded me of what an animal might feel when its fleece is suddenly shed—the shock and intense sensation of exposure. Inspired by themes of introspection, I am drawn to the idea of revealing the inside out. Using transparent fabrics like silk, which expose the inner workings of garments, not only provides insight into garment construction but also conceptually highlights the depths of human emotion.
